i've lived in areas like this. it's not really great. don't know
what you mean by 'high street', though.
It depends.
I think living in a village with 200 population tops (in the most
active season) is nice, the only thing you are losing is services
- stuff like cinemas and the like - but if you don't need to deal
with a homeowner association, that alone is a big win in my book.
I mean, I used to live in a condo when I was a kid and I always
woke up cold in the mornings because the community could not agree
on a schedule to turn the house heating on and off. Now I can burn
as much wood in the fireplace as I like or as much oil as I can
afford.
i dont like living in a little area where everyone knows eachother.
people are dicks and usually hillbilly types like those environments.
i lived in a small town and everything closed early. the only good food was
at the bowling alley. the police were predatory on everyone about speeding
or whatever.
i'm in a small city now and there's nothing good here so people go to the nearby larger city.
