US-Iran War Costs Estimated Over $132 Billion; Global Economic Impact Still Linger
A months-long conflict between the US and Iran has cost lives, disrupted global energy markets, and had a significant impact on domestic and international economies.
The war resulted in higher oil prices, spiked inflation and mortgage rates in the US, paralyzed a key waterway, and led to fuel rationing in countries in Asia and Africa. The estimated toll includes 13 US service members killed and over 3,300 Iranians, as well as thousands more in Lebanon, Israel, and other Gulf states.
